Hi, My name is Prateeksha.

I'm currently working in Yahoo India. I am about two months old here, and am working on exciting IR technologies for Yahoo Audio/Video Search.

Before this,I was at the  International Institute of Information Technology in Bangalore where I did my Masters in Information Technology. My technical interestes include Information Retrieval, Web development and GIS. 

I am basically from Karnataka,born in a town called Shimoga. Lived in Mysore, Chennai and Kerala before finally settling down in Bangalore, where I am now and have been for the past 12 years.

What do i do??

Well, I work on building softwares. All kinds of them. You can find most of my work  here.  Thats what I am doing my masters on. I love building different kinds of stuff with what is generally known as "a few lines of code". And its just the most wonderful feeling when you watch those very same 'few lines of code' do things that you never imagined could be done with speeds that you never imagined you could reach.

What do i like??

I love my family,hanging out with friends, catching a movie and most of the things everyone loves.

But apart from all that,I love my work. Yes, thats the previous paragraph. I love reading. Fiction mostly. But sometimes other things too. Then, there is dancing. I can dance for anything, anytime. .

Other than that Im pretty much a quiet person. Mostly keep to myself :-)
